Here are some of the most famous and important sites in Honolulu:

'Iolani Palace: This building was once the monarch's royal residence. Today, the palace is a museum, and is the only royal palace on US soil.

Aliʻiōlani Hale: Hawaii's former capitol. The building has a large golden statue of King Kamehameha V outside the front. 

 Waikiki Beaches: The tall buildings of Waikiki tower over its iconic white sand beaches, some of the most famous in the world.

Diamond Head: This volcanic caldera is absolutely enormous, but pales in comparison to the larger buildings of the city
