You can register your interest in volunteering for the 2028 Olympics now on the official LA28 website. Applications for specific Games-time volunteer roles will officially open in the summer of 2026.
How to Get Involved
The LA28 Volunteer Program offers two ways to participate:
Community Volunteering (Currently Available): You can sign up now to volunteer for various community events and causes in the Los Angeles region leading up to the Games (e.g., working at a food bank, supporting youth sports programs). While not required for a Games-time spot, this involvement will be taken into consideration in your application and could strengthen your chances.
Games-Time Volunteering (Applications Open Summer 2026): These roles, which will involve assisting athletes, guiding guests, and supporting operations at venues during the Olympics in the summer of 2028, will have their applications open in 2026.
Key Requirements
Age: You must be 18 years or older to register your interest in the volunteer program.
Language: Proficiency in English is required.
Time Commitment: Games-time volunteers are typically expected to commit to a few weeks around the time of the event, plus training sessions.
Expenses: The program is entirely unpaid, and volunteers are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
Registration: Registering your interest on the LA28 website ensures you will be notified via email when specific opportunities become available.
