The Sandlot is a movie about Scottie Smalls trying to navigate his new life in San Fernando as he learns to make friends through baseball by playing at a local sandlot (a type of poorly-built baseball field), and having to face a Beast along the way. However, he and his friends have a much larger problem to deal with than just a simple Beast, which comes in the form of the very thing used to play baseball.

The movie was released in 1993, but was set 31 years earlier, in 1962. Babe Ruth plays a huge role in the movie. as he is partially the reason for the main plot setting off, despite him having passed in the movie and in real life.

Watching the movie from the perspective that it was set in LA makes it seem very realistic, as the landscapes of San Fernando are well reflected, despite the movie in reality being filmed thousands of miles away.
