- The Power Hitter: Despite his portly build, he is a talented power hitter and often refers to himself as "The Great Bambino" or "Long Ball Porter".
- S'mores Expert: One of his most famous scenes involves him teaching Smalls how to make a s'more, meticulously explaining how to "roast the 'mallow" and then "scarf".
- Legendary Catchphrase: Ham is the character who delivers the film's most famous line: "You’re killing me, Smalls!". Actor Patrick Renna actually improvised the specific phrasing of the line on set.
