Personality and Role
- The Echo: He earned his nickname because he can’t start a sentence without saying "Yeah-yeah" first. He serves as the group's "hype man," often repeating what others say for emphasis.
- Energetic and Nervous: Yeah-Yeah (Alan) is often the most vocal when the boys are scared or excited. He has a frantic energy that makes him stand out, even when he isn't the focus of a scene.
- The Scapegoat: During the various "missions" to retrieve the ball from the Beast, Yeah-Yeah often ends up in the most precarious positions—most notably being the one lowered over the fence on a pulley system, only to nearly be eaten when the contraption fails.
Key Story Moments
- The Treehouse: Yeah-Yeah is a key fixture during the team's campouts and meetings in the treehouse, where he usually chimes in to agree with Squints’ terrifying legends about the Beast.
- The Pool Incident: He is one of the boys who watches in horror (and then celebration) as Squints pulls off his "ultimate con" on Wendy Peffercorn.
Adulthood (The Epilogue)
In the film's final update, Yeah-Yeah’s life took a surprisingly disciplined turn:
- Military Career: His parents "shipped him off" to military school shortly after that legendary summer.
- Service: He eventually joined the Army and later became a pioneer in bungee jumping, which fits his daring (if nervous) childhood personality.
