Flags for All: Color Information & Accuracy
Standard Flag Colors
Flags for All sources flags that adhere to official color specifications whenever possible, utilizing the Pantone Matching System (PMS) references established by official government and organizational bodies.
- National Flags: Colors are matched to official government specifications (e.g., the specific "Old Glory Red" and "Old Glory Blue" for the US flag).
- State & Military Flags: Colors follow the respective official guidelines to ensure authenticity.
Color Accuracy & Digital Display
- Monitor Variance: Colors displayed on your screen may vary slightly from the actual physical product. Monitor calibration and display settings can affect how colors appear digitally.
- Product Representation: We strive for 100% color accuracy in our product photography, using professional, color-corrected images. However, digital representation has inherent limitations.
- Material Influence: The final color finish can look slightly different depending on the flag material (e.g., nylon tends to have a shinier finish than polyester, which can affect the perception of color under light).
Color on Custom Flags
For custom flag orders, ensuring color matching is a priority:
- Pantone Matching: The most accurate way to match a specific color is to provide a specific Pantone (PMS) number when submitting your design. This ensures industry-standard color reproduction.
- CMYK/HEX/RGB: If PMS numbers are not available, customers can provide CMYK, HEX codes (for web colors), or RGB values. Our design team will convert these to the closest possible PMS match.
- Color Proofing: Digital proofs are provided for all custom orders. The customer must approve these proofs. Please note that while the proof matches the PMS standard, the final product may still have minor variations due to the printing process.
Color Fastness & Durability
- UV Resistance: All flags are made with UV-resistant dyes to help prevent fading.
- Fading Over Time: Due to exposure to sun, wind, and rain, all flags will eventually fade. Nylon and heavy-duty polyester materials used by Flags for All are selected for superior color retention compared to standard cotton flags.
- Washing & Care: To maintain vibrant colors, follow recommended washing instructions: gentle cycle with mild detergent and air drying. Avoid harsh bleach unless specifically noted for certain materials.
