Vaccinations & Health Requirements
At [Your Doggy Daycare Name], the health and safety of every dog in our care is our top priority. To ensure a safe and healthy environment for all our furry guests, we require that each dog be up-to-date on vaccinations before participating in daycare, grooming, or other services.
Vaccination Requirements:
To join our daycare or any other services, your dog must be current on the following vaccinations:
-
Rabies
All dogs must be vaccinated against rabies as required by local law. This is a critical vaccination to help protect your dog and others from the potential spread of rabies.
-
Distemper, Parvovirus, & Adenovirus (DHPP)
This combination vaccine helps protect against serious diseases like distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus. We require that all dogs have up-to-date DHPP vaccinations to ensure their health and safety while in our care.
-
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Bordetella is a highly contagious respiratory disease, and we require all dogs to be vaccinated against kennel cough before attending daycare. This is especially important for dogs who interact with others in group settings.
-
Canine Influenza (CIV) (Highly Recommended)
Although not always required, we recommend the canine influenza vaccination, especially for dogs who will be in daycare or boarding environments with other pets. It helps protect your dog from the flu and reduces the risk of transmission to others.
Titer Testing (Optional)
If your dog’s veterinarian has recommended or performed titer testing (a blood test that checks the level of antibodies in your dog’s system), we accept titer results as an alternative to certain vaccinations. Please bring a copy of the test results with you during your dog’s check-in.
Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention:
While not mandatory, we strongly encourage that your dog be on a flea, tick, and heartworm prevention program. Keeping your dog protected from parasites ensures their well-being and reduces the risk of spreading parasites to other dogs.
Health and Wellness Considerations
We also ask that dogs be free from any signs of illness (such as coughing, sneezing, or excessive lethargy) before coming in for daycare or grooming. If your dog has been sick recently or is showing signs of illness, please wait until they are fully recovered before bringing them in for services.
Proof of Vaccinations
Before your dog’s first visit, we will need to see proof of all required vaccinations. You can email, fax, or bring in the vaccination records from your vet. After your initial visit, we will keep a copy of these records on file for future reference.
Important: If your dog’s vaccinations are not up-to-date, we cannot allow them to participate in daycare or grooming services until we have the proper documentation. This is to protect all dogs in our care and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Why Vaccinations Are Important
Vaccinations are essential in preventing the spread of contagious diseases, protecting your dog’s health, and keeping our daycare environment safe. By staying up-to-date on vaccines, you help ensure that your dog and all of their canine friends remain healthy and protected.
