Ceramics & Photography

The one dislike I have about ceramics is that sometimes it feels like a rush to complete. To avoid not completing in time, however, she has her studio open at lunch and in the morning on Wednesdays occasionally, and has opened it even more often during finals week since many are still working on their zentangle bowls this week. Another issue I have is with write-ups, as I'm a very detailed person and struggle to quickly grade my own work. Sometimes there are other write ups to complete as well, such as firing write ups and bisqueware. It's a matter of filling out a small ticket, but you must remember to put your finished project at the very back of the cart so as to not have it accidentally knocked over by someone, which can be easy to forget. In photography, sometimes assignments can feel very rushed. For instance, being given two days to complete certain assignments. Granted, you are sometimes told about it ahead of time, but sometimes you aren't, and this makes it difficult to complete so quickly. You're also not taught a ton about photo editing, so it's a bit difficult to know how to edit a photo on your own. There are tutorial resources, but you are expected to edit them relatively fast to make time for printing your final chosen photo for the project.

Communications

The one thing I dislike about communications is that it initially felt anxiety inducing to present. He also does set a timer to tell you when you've reached the required time, but sometimes forgets to do this by accident, which can be confusing. You're also expected to make eye contact around the room, which I occasionally forget. Although I do this, there is one student who often says the n-word and has said racist things many times who was glaring at me angrily throughout my speech on the connection between the game Detroit: Become Human to historical racism that has taken place in Detroit, Michigan.
