Pickleball

Pickleball is a fast-paced paddle sport that combines parts of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It’s easy to learn, which is why it’s super popular with all ages right now.

🏓 How It’s Played

  • Played on a small court (about the size of a badminton court).

  • You use a solid paddle (not stringed like tennis).

  • The ball is a plastic ball with holes (like a wiffle ball).

  • Can be played singles (1v1) or doubles (2v2).

📏 Basic Rules

  1. The serve must be underhand.

  2. The ball has to bounce once on each side after the serve before players can hit it in the air (this is called the “two-bounce rule”).

  3. There’s a non-volley zone near the net called the “kitchen” — you can’t volley (hit the ball in the air) while standing in it.

  4. Games are usually played to 11 points, and you must win by 2.

🎯 What’s the Goal?

Just like tennis — hit the ball over the net and try to make the other player miss or hit it out of bounds.

⚡ Why It’s So Popular

  • Easier to learn than tennis

  • Smaller court = less running

  • Very social (especially doubles)

  • Good mix of quick reflexes + strategy
