What It Is
The Grossery Gang (often misheard as “Grocery Gang”) is a collectible toy line created by Moose Toys, the same company that made Shopkins and The Trash Pack. It launched in 2016 and ran through around 2019, when production quietly ended.
The toys are small, squishy collectible figures modeled after grocery store products that have “gone bad” — mouldy, expired, rotten, or otherwise gross versions of everyday food and household items.
The setting for the characters is a decaying grocery store called the Yucky Mart in a fictional town called Cheap Town.

Tips for Collectors
-
Keep figures out of direct sunlight; the rubber material can fade or get sticky.
-
Store in plastic cases or trays to prevent dust buildup.
-
Use online checklists to track what you have (sites like toys.fandom.com or kid-time.net).
-
Watch for counterfeits or repackaged fakes, especially on auction sites.
-
Some serious collectors focus on getting all Limited Editions or full Moldy Veg sets.
Summary
The Grossery Gang combined the humor of “gross-out” 1980s toys with the blind-bag collecting craze of the 2010s. With five main series, hundreds of characters, playsets, and even a web series, it became one of Moose Toys’ biggest hits between 2016 and 2019. Though discontinued, it remains popular among collectors and nostalgic fans. |
