Audience Reviews 1.) "When i was about ten or eleven, my dad got tickets to see the Astros at Minute Maid park, initially i was ticked because i didn't want to spend Saturdays with dad at a dumb baseball game, but nonetheless he made me go because i was too young to stay home alone...he also said he'd there'd be nachos. So begrudgingly, i went along, this marked the very beginning of my interest in baseball, then came this movie... Incredible...especially the ending where we see what they all became, particularly Benny. This movie gave me real 'Stand By Me' vibes another reason why i loved it so--it's basically that with a little baseball thrown in. There was something charming about the scene where the boys are watching the fireworks during the 4th of July unable to play because how mesmerized they are... Disney struck a 'home run' with this movie, one of my favorite live action Disney films ever. It makes me feel nostalgic, even though i wasn't around when this movie came out, it's the innocence of childhood, i guess." (5 STARS) 2.) "Two words: comfort movie. When I was about 4 or 5 (or at least some type of young age), I remember so vividly when my mom when turn on the TV and put on The Sandlot. About 10 years later, when I completely forgot about the movie and was bored, scrolling around on Disney+, I saw this movie on recommended and memories came flooding back. While I love this film for bringing back a wave of nostalgia for me (even though I wasn't born in the years when it was made), the plot is terrific -- with many lovable characters and a great cast for them. I truly love the bond between all the boys (especially from the Fourth of July scene and the ending scenes) between a simple, seemingly never-ending game of baseball. HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS FILM (in fact, you should go do it right now :D)." (5 STARS) 3.) The Sandlot is a fun movie from my childhood. I remember watching parts of it when I was a kid but have watched it a few times in full as I've grown older. It's one of the great group cast movies of the 90s. A bunch of kids who love baseball. The new guy in town - "Smalls" - gets invited to play with the guys because they only have eight players. Where things get interesting is when they hit their limited supply of baseballs over the fence and into the yard where "The Beast" lives. It's got some very memorable moments of the guys bonding - at the swimming pool, on the field against a rival team, at the carnival, and trying to retrieve a very special baseball. It's about friendship and "The Great Bambino!" (4 STARS)
