| The goal of Klondike Solitaire is to move all 52 cards into four foundation piles (one per suit) in ascending order, from Ace to King. Create seven tableau columns, alternating colors in descending order (e.g., Red 6 on Black 7). Use the stock pile to draw cards when no moves remain. To set up classic Solitaire (Klondike), shuffle a 52-card deck and create seven tableau piles from left to right: the first pile gets one card face up, the second gets two (one up, one down), the third gets three (one up, two down), and so on, up to seven cards in the seventh pile (one up, six down). Place the remaining cards face down as the stockpile, leaving space for four foundation piles (for Aces to Kings by suit) and a waste pile. |
