Origins The game first appeared in the 1930s as Eights, and the name Crazy Eights dates to the 1940s. The name may come from the military designation for discharging mentally unstable soldiers, Section 8. Variations There are many variations of Crazy Eights, including Craits, Last Card, Switch, and Black Jack. Some variants use 8s as the wild card, while others use Jacks. UNO The card game UNO was invented by Merle Robbins in 1971 after an argument with his son about the rules of Crazy Eights. Robbins and his family loved to play Crazy Eights. |
