Apex Legends Pricing and Monetization

Apex Legends is a free-to-play game, but it features various monetization methods that allow players to purchase in-game items, cosmetics, and premium content. While the game does not require spending money to play or progress, it offers a range of paid content, including battle passes, Legend skins, weapon skins, and in-game currency.

In-Game Currency

Apex Legends has three main forms of currency:

1. Apex Coins (AC) – This is the game’s premium currency, which can be purchased with real money. Apex Coins are used to buy premium cosmetics, event packs, and the battle pass.
2. Legend Tokens (LT) – Earned by leveling up, these can be used to unlock new Legends or recolor select skins.

Battle Pass

Apex Legends features a seasonal Battle Pass, which costs 950 Apex Coins (around $9.99) and offers a progression system where players unlock exclusive rewards like Legend skins, weapon skins, Apex Packs, and in-game currency. Players can also purchase a Premium Battle Pass Bundle (2,800 Apex Coins) to skip the first 25 tiers instantly.

Apex Packs & Loot Boxes

Apex Packs are the game’s version of loot boxes, containing three random cosmetic items or Crafting Metals. Players earn free Apex Packs through gameplay but can also purchase them using Apex Coins:

• 1 Apex Pack – 100 Apex Coins (~$1)
• 10 Apex Packs – 1,000 Apex Coins (~$10)
• 50 Apex Packs – 5,000 Apex Coins (~$50)

Apex Packs have a pity system, guaranteeing at least one Legendary item every 30 packs and ensuring no duplicate Legendary items.

Legend Unlocks

New Legends are introduced every season and can be unlocked with:

• 12,000 Legend Tokens (earned through gameplay)
• 750 Apex Coins (~$7.50)

Players can unlock Legends for free by playing consistently, but purchasing them with Apex Coins offers instant access.

Event & Limited-Time Skins

Apex Legends frequently hosts limited-time events with exclusive skins. Event skins can be purchased with Apex Coins or unlocked through event packs, which cost:

• Event Pack – 700 Apex Coins (~$7)
• Individual Skins – 1,800 Apex Coins ($18)

Some exclusive skins also return in collection events, where unlocking all event cosmetics grants a rare heirloom melee weapon.

Heirlooms & Mythic Cosmetics

Heirlooms are rare, melee weapons tied to specific Legends, offering unique animations. Players can obtain them by:

• Collecting 150 Heirloom Shards (randomly dropped from Apex Packs, with a guaranteed drop every 500 packs).
• Purchasing during Collection Events by unlocking all event items (~$160-$180 total).
