Since the brand’s creation in 1908, Rolex has pursued the fundamental conviction of its founder, Hans Wilsdorf, that the future of the wristwatch is inseparable from superlative performance. Heir to the brand’s aesthetic heritage and boasting exclusive watchmaking innovations, the elegant Perpetual 1908 marks a new milestone in the Manufacture's quest for excellence. This fine example of Rolex’s watchmaking prowess, with Superlative Chronometer certification, brings classicism to the future.

In 1908, the Rolex brand was created in a bold move, that of Hans Wilsdorf, who completely transformed the history of watchmaking with his innovative vision for a precise and reliable wristwatch. This quest for excellence continues today, helping to improve the superlative performance of Rolex watches. Building on these technological advances, the 1908 upholds the aesthetic identity of its origins. Through this timepiece, the Manufacture rises to the challenge of slenderness. The ultimate harmonious watch, the 1908 and its case crafted from 18 kt gold or 950 platinum pave the way for a watchmaking future where delicacy and performance go hand in hand.

While Hans Wilsdorf’s revolutionary innovations concerned the technical features of the wristwatch, they were also the fruit of an extremely strong aesthetic vision. The silhouette of the case as well as the design of the 1908’s dial reinvent the classic – yet very modern – spirit of the original Oyster Perpetual watches of 1931. Displayed on its face are the Arabic numerals 3, 9 and 12, as well as a small seconds hand at 6 o’clock. Meanwhile, the faceted 18 kt gold hour markers harmoniously match the different styles of hands: sword-shaped for the minutes and Breguet for the hours. The 1908 is fitted with a black or brown alligator-leather strap with green lining, and features a Dualclasp with two symmetrical blades.
