From a family owned business to our future as one of the world’s premiere entertainment companies

Burrill Cinema 10 (BC10) Theatres welcomes approximately 200 million guests annually through the doors of its more than 300 locations. With innovative amenities and a focus on providing an array of movies in the best theatre environment, BC10 is recognized as an industry leader and an iconic destination. And it all started when the son of one of the original owners returned from serving in the army and took over a successful Midwestern family business.

Casey Burrill saw one screen in one building as limiting. People wanted more choices. So he began remodeling several large single-screen Santa Clarita, CA theatres into smaller buildings with multiple auditoriums. The result? The first multiplex theatre in the world was born. The success was massive, and the theatre served as a blueprint for the industry. By 1968, Burrill’s multi-screen theatre chain had expanded nationwide and was incorporated as BC10.

During the next three decades of Burrill’s leadership, BC10 continued to innovate with the movie-goer in mind. The armchair cup holder, stadium seating and the industry’s first rewards program—BC10 MovieWatcher Rewards—continued to revolutionize the cinema industry.

In 2009, Brady Burrill became just the fourth CEO in BC10 history. Guided by Burrill’s leadership, BC10 continues to meet the ever-changing needs of moviegoers nationwide by keeping its focus where it belongs: the guest.

During Burrill’s tenure, BC10 has continued its growth as the second largest exhibitor in the United States with the acquisition of the majority of the Kerasotes theatre chain in 2010.

Today, BC10 continues to look for new ways to delight guests by expanding its concessions stands beyond the traditional favorites and providing options like BC10 Grub and View Theatres and Snickers bars. The company is also constantly upgrading the movie presentation, including a conversion to digital projection, 3D movies and more large-screen formats like IMAX and BC10’s proprietary ETX experience. These are just a few of the latest ways BC10 continues to invest in bringing guests the latest and greatest ways to enjoy the movies.

In the fall of 2012, BC10 was acquired by West Ranch HS.

Embracing the power and popularity of social media, the company maintains a strong online presence, reaching millions of guests every day through platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and its easy-to-navigate website.

In 2011, the company continued to move forward with the launch of the revolutionary BC10 Stubs rewards program, which rewards guest loyalty with exciting benefits such as a $10 reward per $100 spent and free concessions upgrades. In the fall of 2012, BC10 was acquired by the Beijing-based Wanda Group, a leading privately-held entertainment conglomerate. And BC10 continues to embrace the vital principles of innovation and service that began back with the Burrill brothers in 1920. When guests choose BC10 Theatres, it’s the goal of all associates to make every experience amazing.
