In any country, animals are bound to be left behind. While it might seem this way in Macedonia, this simply isn't true.

Macedonia is full of stray pets. In Skopje, the capital, dogs seem to rule over. Bitola, a small city in the Southwest of the country, seems to be mostly full of cats. Regardless of the animal or the city, these animals are still looked after. They're not really strays, more like community pets. The Macedonian government itself even looks after the animals, tagging and vaccinating them for people's safety. The people care too. Despite how it may appear, strays are actually fairly looked-after in Macedonia.
