The Black Labrador, aka Black Lab is a British breed of retriver gun dogs. It was developed in the United Kingom from St. John's water dogs imported from the colony of Newfoundland, and was named after the Labrador region in that colony ever since. The average lifespan of a black lab is 10-12 years (roughly 60-70 human years). The males and females are both around 2 feet tall (22-24 inches), but the male is slightly heavier weighing 65-80 pounds while the female weighs around 55-70. These dogs are very outgoing, calm, friendly, agile, and very very cute. These dogs are highly adaptable to different lifestyles of their owner, meaning that it will match your energy if you are lazy, hyper, active, depressed, etc. making them the perfect dogs for sympathy and comfort. They are very good with kids and other people, and other dogs as well, and they are very easy to train and are very intelligent. Although they shed a lot of fur throughout the year, they are also very gentle, trusting and trustworthy dogs that make a perfect fit for your home no matter your type of lifestyle.
