Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, a boy who is the Avatar, the only person who can bend all four elements and maintain balance in the world. He reawakens after being trapped in an iceberg for 100 years to find the Fire Nation waging a world war. Aided by his companions Katara and Sokka, Aang embarks on a quest to master the remaining elements—water, earth, and fire—while evading the exiled Fire Nation Prince Zuko, who wants to capture him to regain his honor. The series follows Aang and his friends as they journey across the four nations, facing challenges, making allies, and attempting to restore peace to their world before the Fire Nation conquers it

The World and the Avatar's Role

  • To stop the Fire Nation, Aang, along with Katara and Sokka, travels to learn waterbending, earthbending, and firebending, with each season focusing on mastering a new element. 
  • They are pursued by Prince Zuko a banished Fire Nation prince who hopes to capture the Avatar to restore his honor.
