Sonic eventually arrives in Stardust Speedway, where Metal Sonic challenges him to a deadly race, with Eggman keeping a laser active behind them. Sonic defeats his robotic counterpart and frees Amy. Soon after, he travels to Metallic Madness and defeats Eggman, triggering a chain reaction that causes Little Planet's metallic shell to crumble. He and Amy escape from Little Planet and land in Never Lake.
